Talk Title: Buy Local Act Global – Supporting Independent Coffee Shops and the Climate at the Same Time.

Around 95 million cups of coffee are consumed every day in the UK. However, the coffee industry is facing significant challenges due to climate change, from supply chain disruption to the production of coffee beans. Independent coffee shops are trying to build resilience to these global issues by implementing climate-conscious actions and Edinburgh Science have just launched the BuyLocalActGlobal campaign to highlight these efforts and encourage other small businesses – from any sector to start doing the same using their free online resource The NetZeroToolkit. This conversational event aims to highlight their efforts, demonstrate that even the smallest of businesses can have a positive impact when it comes to taking climate action and talk about how we, as consumers can help.
