TALKS PROGRAMME: MARTHA BYTOF (DEAR GREEN COFFEE ROASTERS)
Martha Bytof is the Step Up to Net Zero Coordinator at Dear Green, pushing the Green in Dear Green even further beyond the bean. Martha is originally from Hamburg in Germany and has lived in Glasgow for four and a half years. Coming from a marketing and consumer research background as a recent Bachelor's graduate at Glasgow Caledonian University she is starkly aware of the difference between naive continuity in profit-driven corporations driven by the need to re-educate businesses and citizens for a climate-just future and contribute to the common good. Hence, an important aspect of her life is putting theory and action together and not to forget her big passion for coffee.
Talk Title: Dear Green's Environmental Impact - Carbon & Coffee
Martha will be sharing information on her exploration of the environmental impact Dear Green has and what actions are taken . We will look at the carbon emissions of the business, the whole supply chain and going beyond. This includes discussing challenges which the coffee industry faces as well as progress in terms of fundamental changes. At the end of the talk we there will be a group discussion to exchange ideas and thoughts on sustainability in the coffee industry as a whole. This is a learning journey for everyone after all.
